A Hart County Man died in a two vehicle crash yesterday morning in LaRue County.

KSP Post 4 received a call from the Larue County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance with a two-vehicle collision resulting in a fatality on US-31E in Larue County. The preliminary investigation revealed that Colby Wilder, age 22 of Munfordville, was traveling south on US-31E in a 2011 Kia Forte, for unknown reasons Wilder’s vehicle struck the rear of a garbage truck, operated by Stephen Williams, age 28 of Elizabethtown.

Wilder was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Larue County Coroner’s Office. Williams was not injured, a portion of US-31E was closed for several hours in order to allow troopers to investigate the collision. Larue County Sheriff’s Office, Magnolia Fire Department, Larue County EMS and Larue County Coroner’s Office assisted KSP Post 4 at the scene.

The collision is still under investigation by reconstructionist Trooper Tyler Lynch.
