An Elkhorn man died as a result of a single vehicle collision in northern Adair County Friday night.
Adair County Sheriff Josh Brockman told 99.9 The Big Dawg that Adair County 911 received a call of a single vehicle collision on Elkhorn Road in Adair County, preliminary investigation shows that Ronald Woodrum age 67 was traveling north on Elkhorn road along with his passenger a 3 year old child. Woodrum was operating a 2018 GMC Sierra truck when he lost control leaving the roadway on the left side and struck a tree, Woodrum was pronounced deceased at the scene and the 3 year old child was airlifted to University of Louisville by helicopter.
Seatbelts where in use for both driver and passenger, the 3 year old was treated and released.
The investigation is being continued by the Adair County Sheriffs Office, Deputy Joey Keith was assisted on scene by Chief Deputy Justin Cross.
