On Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 1:30 P.M. Campbellsville Police received numerous 911 calls in reference to a male laying down in the middle of South Central Avenue and hitting vehicles as they passed by him. Officer Aaron Fields responded and located the male, 44 year old Jason Hicks of Campbellsville, in the area of Dunkin Donuts on East Broadway. As Officer Fields exited his cruiser, Mr. Hicks came up to Officer Fields and shoved him. As officer Fields attempted to place Mr. Hicks under arrest, Mr. Hicks ran out into the middle of Broadway. After a brief struggle, Mr. Hicks was placed under arrest and transported to the Taylor County Detention Center. Hicks was charged with the following;
Public Intoxication
Resisting Arrest
Assault 3rd degree (on police officer)
Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (Methamphetamine)
Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd degree (on foot)
