Russell County Community Blood Drive 4/23

LEXINGTON, KY – Kentucky Blood Center helps save local lives, but it’s only possible through the generous donation of blood from its donors.

Donor support is needed at an upcoming blood drive in this area. Donations at drives like this one provide lifesaving blood products to more than 70 hospitals in Kentucky.

A Russell County Community Blood Drive will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 11:30am-5:30pmCT at the South Ky RECC Community Room, 2405 N Main St, Jamestown, KY.

Please note: Online appointments and reminders (emails and texts) are shown and made in EST. For example, if you make an appointment online for 2 p.m., please arrive at the blood drive at 1 p.m.

KBC will recognize your support with a KBC T-shirt (while supplies last). In addition, one lucky donor will win a $100 gift card sponsored by Patti Glover, Russell County Clerk.

KBC needs 400 donors a day to maintain a healthy blood supply for its local hospitals. Support at drives like this one is critical to meeting the daily demand for blood. The need is considerable and consistent: One in four people will need a blood transfusion in their lifetime for a wide range of treatments, including cancer, traumas, diseases, organ transplants, surgeries, childbirth and more.

Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. To schedule a donation, visit kybloodcenter.org or call 800.775.2522.
