Hershel Melson, 88, of Knifley, KY died Monday, May 6, 2024 at 2:04 P.M. at his residence. He was born May 13, 1935 in Adair County to the late Estel and Tilda Melson. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Valtie Edel Wheat Melson; a daughter, Betty Crawhorn; and a granddaughter, Rebecca Judd. 

Hershel was a retired truck driver, working until his late 70’s.

1 daughter: Linda Walker (Rusty) of Knifley

1 son: Lee Melson of Jamestown

8 grandchildren & several great-grandchildren

Funeral Service: Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Helm officiating

Burial: Jones Chapel Cemetery

Visitation: After 5:00 P.M. Wednesday
